Forklift safety training is the employer's responsibility. It is in the employer's best interests to spend money on forklift training for all staff. 4) Employees must be trained how to lean away from the turn, and stay inside the cab even when there is risk of overturning. Staff should not jump out. That's the best way to avoid serious injury.
5) Staff need to be trained to understand a forklift's weight capacity limit. A major cause of forklift mishaps is related to tip overs caused by lifting too big a load. Staff should be well aware of how much they could safely carry. A tip over could damage the entire forklift. Overloading is the biggest safety mistake a worker could make.
