During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism really impressed a lot of clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into making man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic slump in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the early years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machinery are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine has to be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These equipment are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machines deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
